Crafting Halloween Magic: The Heartfelt Stories Behind Our Halloween 3D Pop-Up Card Bundle

Hi there! I’m Laura. Grab a warm autumn drink, settle into your favorite craft space, and let's talk about one of my absolute favorite times of the year!

If you are anything like me, you know the pure thrill of opening a fresh stack of colorful cardstock as the weather turns crisp. There is something truly magical about paper crafting in the fall. To me, it is never just about cutting paper—it's about making memories, gifting love, and decorating your life with beauty.

Today, I am so excited to share our Halloween Pop Up Card 3D SVG Bundle with you! I want to take you behind the scenes to share the personal stories that inspired these three designs, along with the exact sizing specs and materials lists so you can gather your supplies and get ready to create something gorgeous.

Haunted House 3D Card & Luminary

The Story Behind the Design

I originally designed this Haunted House 3D Card Decor as a heartfelt Halloween gift for my close friends and family. The process of making it brought me so much peace, and the wonderful comments I received from everyone who opened one meant the world to me. In fact, seeing so many of my loved ones display and treasure their paper haunted houses year after year is one of the biggest reasons I officially launched Bella Carta Design in 2022!

Haunted House Card Project Details

This double-accordion design creates a captivating 3D display piece featuring spooky trees, eerie ghosts, scary jack-o'-lanterns, an owl, and a witch soaring on her broomstick.

Finished Size

Assembled, it stands at 10 inches wide by 6.5 inches tall by 4 inches deep. When you collapse it flat, it easily fits into a standard A7 envelope for gifting.

Special Feature

It is engineered with three internal box compartments built to hold battery-operated LED tea light candles, casting a beautiful, flickering autumn glow through the cutouts.

Materials You'll Need

Black Cardstock: Plain 12x12-inch cardstock

Accent Cardstock: Plain 8.5x11-inch cardstock in brown, orange, and white

Envelope Paper: Plain 12x12-inch cardstock or paper for the coordinating bat-closure envelope

Lighting: 3 battery-operated LED tea light candles

Adhesive: Your favorite paper glue

Ghost &  Haunted House Pop-Up Card (with a surprise!)

The Story Behind the Design

This card came to life late one evening after I watched a spooky movie about a ghost haunting an old English manor! I wanted to recreate that fun, playful "jump-scare" moment in a handmade paper card that would make people smile. Pulling the side tab brings a hidden ghost out from behind the haunted house!

This interactive card brings a delightful element of surprise to your Halloween greetings. As with all my cards, the template includes a matching A7 envelope. This one features a Jack-o'-lantern accent.

Finished Size: Closed, the card measures 5 inches tall by 7 inches wide. When opened, it features a 1-inch parallel fold pop-up that sits out from the card base.

Materials You'll Need

White Cardstock: One 12x12-inch sheet (for the envelope), plus a small scrap piece for the ghost pull

Black Cardstock: One 8.5x11-inch sheet

Orange Cardstock: Two 8.5x11-inch sheets

Yellow Cardstock: One 12x12-inch sheet

Dark Grey Cardstock: One 8.5x11-inch sheet (or smaller)

Adhesives & Tools: Strong paper glue, optional foam adhesive for front card accents, and an optional manual scoring tool.

Bats, Cat & Moon Pop-Up Card

The Story Behind the Design

If you have been following Bella Carta Design for a while, you probably know my adorable (and very expressive!) tuxedo cat, Sophie. Sophie has big, bright eyes and the most dramatic reactions to everything. Her personality inspired this scene—I couldn't resist turning her startled face into a pop-up story!

Dimensions & Project Details The front of the card sets the scene with a black cat watching a few bats flutter across a full moon. But when it opens, there is a dramatic 3D surprise! The interior pop-up reveals the black cat frozen in fright as a whole swarm of bats flies right toward him under a glowing full moon!

This project might look complicated, but I’ve made the assembly very easy. I’ve created cutouts and tabs for the placement of each pop up piece.

Finished Size: The closed card measures 5 inches by 7 inches. When opened to its 7-inch tall by 10-inch wide card base, the internal pop-up structure bursts out to 5.5 inches tall by 8 inches wide by 3 inches deep.

Materials You'll Need

Cardstock (8.5x11-inch, preferably 80 lb for sturdy pop-up folds):

Black cardstock

Dark Grey cardstock

Yellow-Gold cardstock

Purple cardstock

Envelope Paper: One 12x12-inch sheet in white or another light color for the lined A7 envelope

Adhesive: Strong paper glue

3D Pop-Up Train Card SVG: How to Make a Frustration-Free DIY Gift with Cricut

Hello there, creative friend! I want to pull back the curtain today and show you something that usually stays hidden in the scrap bin under my craft desk.

It all started when my train-loving grandson was turning two. He and my husband spend hours playing with our home model train set-up, so I wanted to create a special handmade gift for his birthday. I had a vision of a three-dimensional antique steam locomotive popping out of a greeting card when opened. But to be completely honest, the paper had other plans at first! There were moments when I thought this 3D pop-up train card SVG might never see the light of day.

I firmly believe that paper crafting should be a quiet escape—a chance to slow down, find your flow, and make heartfelt hand craft gifts with your own two hands. Nothing ruins that peaceful feeling faster than a complex template that gets stuck or tearing cardstock. That’s why I do all the testing and "failing" in my studio first, so you can skip straight to the pure joy of a finished masterpiece.

A Fiesta of Memories: Crafting the Vibrant Spirit of Día de Muertos

If there is one thing I love most about paper crafting, it is the magic of taking a few simple sheets of cardstock and turning them into something bursting with heart, memory, and love.

Growing up in California, I was lucky enough to be surrounded by colorful cultural celebrations, but Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) has always held a truly special place in my heart. The moment November arrives, homes and streets fill with glowing candles, brilliant golden marigolds, playful sugar skulls, and music. It is anything but spooky—it is a joyful, warmth-filled family reunion where we honor and celebrate the sweet memories of loved ones who hold a permanent place in our hearts.

If you’ve been looking for a meaningful way to bring this colorful, family-focused celebration into your home, you are in the right place! With your Cricut or Silhouette machine, you can turn colorful paper into radiant home decor, and glowing keepsakes to celebrate family for this festive time of year.
